Terms of Service
Effective 14 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Party Match for using the Party Match apps, the web app at app.partymatch.social and this website. Please read them, along with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Party Match (“we”, “us”) is based in Lagos, Nigeria. By creating an account or using Party Match you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Party Match.
2. Who can use Party Match
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be able to enter a binding contract, and not be barred from using Party Match by law or by a previous ban from us.
- Party Match is built for nights out in Lagos, Nigeria. Payments are in naira.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information, including your real date of birth. Your name and photos must be you; your @username and anonymous handle can’t impersonate anyone or be offensive.
- One account per person. Keep access to your email and devices secure; you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us at whatsup@partymatch.social if you think someone else is using your account. You can sign out of every device in the app.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app, once you aren’t leading or holding money in an active pool and your wallet is empty.
4. Community rules
Party Match only works if people can trust it. Don’t:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone;
- post hate speech, sexual content involving anyone under 18 or without consent, graphic violence, or anything illegal;
- share someone’s private information, photos of them without consent, or anything meant to reveal who wrote an anonymous post;
- impersonate anyone, or pretend to be the host of a party or venue you don’t run;
- post fake parties, fake reviews or misleading listings, or review a party you didn’t go to;
- fake check-ins or activity, or game your Aura score, for example with multiple accounts or devices;
- scam people, ask for money outside Party Match’s payment features, or use pools for anything other than a shared night out;
- sell or advertise drugs, weapons or sex;
- send spam, or use Party Match for unsolicited advertising;
- scrape, copy or collect data from Party Match, reverse engineer it, get around its limits or security, or interfere with how it works.
Anonymous posting is there so people can be honest, not so they can break these rules. We know who wrote every anonymous post, and these rules apply to it in the same way.
Report anything that breaks these rules. We review reports and may remove content, warn, or suspend accounts for 7 days, 30 days or permanently. We don’t tell anyone who reported them.
5. Your content
- You own what you post: posts, photos, reviews, polls, messages and the parties and places you add.
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example resize or crop) and share it to run and promote Party Match, including on public party, place and post pages and share cards. Promotion never uses your anonymous posts in a way that links them to you, or your private messages. The licence ends when you delete the content, except where others have shared it or we must keep it by law.
- Only post what you have the right to share. Public timelines are public: anyone with the link can see posts on party and place pages.
- We don’t review everything before it goes up and aren’t responsible for what users post, but we can remove anything that breaks these terms or the law.
- Suggested edits, claims and feedback you send us can be used to improve Party Match without paying you.
6. Meeting people
Squad, Vibe, Here now and Nearby help you meet people, but we don’t run background checks, and selfie verification only confirms that someone’s photos look like them. You’re responsible for your own safety:
- meet in public, and tell a friend where you’re going;
- arrange your own way home;
- never send money to someone you’ve only met on Party Match;
- drink responsibly, and keep an eye on your drink;
- block and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
If you are in danger, call the emergency services on 112 first.
7. Parties, places and listings
- Parties are run by their hosts and venues, not by Party Match. Verified hosts carry a tick. Community listings are added by users from public posts and are labelled as such; we review them, but we can’t promise their details (time, price, lineup, address) are right.
- Listings, reviews and posts reflect what users say, not our views. Check the details before you go.
- Only add parties and places that are real, with a genuine public post as proof. If you claim a party or place, you must actually run it, and the proof you give must be genuine. Claiming a page gives you the official details, not control over other people’s posts on it.
- Links to outside ticket sellers and other sites are their responsibility, under their own terms.
8. Tickets
- Tickets sold in Party Match are sold by the host. We take payment on the host’s behalf through Paystack (by card, bank transfer or USSD) or from your wallet, and issue the ticket.
- A ticket is held for 15 minutes while you pay. Each ticket has its own QR code; keep it to yourself. If you send a ticket to a friend, the old code stops working.
- The host decides who gets in on the night, including age checks, dress codes and capacity. Any “min spend” shown is set by the host and isn’t charged by Party Match.
- Refunds: tickets aren’t refundable once bought, unless the host cancels the party or the law requires it. If a party is cancelled, we’ll arrange refunds with the host, normally to your Party Match wallet.
- Don’t resell tickets for more than you paid or use Party Match tickets for commercial resale.
9. Pools
- A pool lets a squad collect money for a shared cost such as a table, tickets, drinks or a ride. To start one you must verify your identity with your BVN.
- Each pool has its own bank account number provided through Paystack. Pay your share by bank transfer with your personal reference, or from your wallet. Party Match is not a bank, and pools are not savings or investment accounts.
- When a pool is full, the starter submits where the money goes. Paystack confirms the account name. The people who paid then vote: everyone must approve in a pool of 4 or fewer; bigger pools need 75% of payers, and never fewer than 4. Any payer can flag the payout, which holds the money until it’s resolved.
- Once approved, the money is sent automatically and can’t be reversed by us. Check the account before you vote.
- If a pool misses its deadline or is cancelled, everyone is refunded to their wallet. Overpayments go back to whoever overpaid.
- Fee: 1% of each payout, capped at ₦5,000, taken from the payout.
- The deal with the venue, host or driver is between your squad and them. We’re not responsible if they don’t deliver what was agreed, but tell us and we’ll help where we can.
10. Wallet
- You can top up your wallet through Paystack (minimum ₦500) and use it for pools and tickets. Refunds land in it.
- Your wallet balance doesn’t earn interest and isn’t a bank account or deposit. There’s no withdraw button in the app; money leaves it through pools, tickets or a withdrawal you ask us for by email.
- To withdraw your balance, for example before closing your account or if we close it, email whatsup@partymatch.social with your bank details and we’ll process the withdrawal to that account once we’ve confirmed it’s you.
- We may hold or reverse wallet funds linked to fraud, chargebacks or payment errors, and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
11. Hosts and venues
If you list parties as a verified host or venue, you also agree that:
- The information you give for verification and identity checks (NIN, CAC certificate, proof of address, bank details) is true, and you have authority to act for the business.
- You’re responsible for your parties: the details you list, holding them as advertised, safety and security, crowd control, licences and permits, and following the law, including on alcohol and age limits. You must honour valid tickets.
- Fees and payouts: Party Match keeps 5% of each ticket sold, which covers payment processing. We pay ticket sales into your verified bank account each day at 10am for sales made before that day. Until you complete Tier 2 checks, payouts are limited to ₦500,000 per night, with the rest held until you do.
- If you cancel a party, you must tell your guests and refund ticket holders. We may hold payouts, or recover them from future payouts, to cover refunds, chargebacks or fraud.
- You’re responsible for your team members’ actions on your account, and for any taxes on your sales.
- Use guest information only to run your party, and handle it in line with Nigerian data protection law.
- We may remove your verification, hide listings, or hold payouts if you break these terms or we receive credible reports of fraud or danger.
12. Aura score and badges
Aura, ranks and badges are for fun and recognition. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and we may change how they’re worked out. We can remove points or badges earned by cheating.
13. Our service and brand
Party Match, its apps, design, logos and code belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Party Match as these terms allow. Don’t use our name or logo without permission. We may change, add or remove features, and we may pause Party Match for maintenance.
14. Suspension and closing accounts
We may warn you, remove content, limit features, or suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we’re required to by law, or to protect people or Party Match. Where we can, we’ll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the email we send you. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11 and 15 to 17 continue to apply after your account closes.
15. Disclaimers
Party Match is provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate, safe and available, but we don’t promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted, that any party will happen as listed, or how any user, host or venue will behave. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act, that can’t be excluded.
16. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Party Match isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or for what users, hosts or venues do, online or at a party. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and ₦50,000. We don’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
If you break these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from claims made against us because of it.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. If we can’t, the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
18. Changes
We may update these terms as Party Match changes. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Party Match after that, you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can delete your account.
